The platform was modeled after the former platform, rebuilt in 2019 with the help of funding. From here you have a great view of an "inhabited" eagle nest. With the naked eye you can see the eyrie and its inhabitants dimly, so it is recommended to bring binoculars.
With the naked eye, the nest, which is also called an "eyrie", can only be dimly seen. We are in the territory, which is inhabited by pairs of white-tailed eagles throughout the year. The eyrie, which is used for several years, can weigh about 600 kg and reach a diameter of up to 2.50 meters.
The viewing platform was funded by the "European Regional Development Fund" (ERDF) of the program for the development of economic infrastructure to improve the regional economic structure in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern" promoted for the tourist design in the municipal area of Göhren-Lebbin / Landes Förder Institut Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
