The recognized health resort Wesenberg is located in the nature experience region Mecklenburgische Kleinseenplatte. In addition to unspoiled nature, there are also architectural and historical monuments to experience. The staff of the tourist information office will be happy to help you organize and arrange your stay in the region.
The impressive landscapes, the biodiversity of flora and fauna and the cultural-historical treasures of the Mecklenburg Lake District enchant away from the big city and everyday life. Wesenberg is dominated by countless lakes connected by small canals. The town lies on the edge of the German Avenue Road and is the southern gateway to the Müritz National Park. On foot, by bicycle or by raft, canoe, rowing boat and motorboat, you can get very close to flora and fauna.
The most important symbol of Wesenberg is the castle built in the 13th century with the so-called Fangelturm. Today it houses the tourist information center with the local history room and the fishing exhibition. Not far from the castle, the toy museum in the Villa Pusteblume welcomes its guests. Old toys and mechanical musical instruments are lovingly exhibited here. In addition to the historic market square, the Gothic St. Mary's Church, built in the 14th century, also tells about the history of the town. An old lime tree with a trunk circumference of 8 meters adorns the entrance of the church as a natural monument. An erratic block garden and the only preserved house bridge in northern Germany in the district of Ahrensberg complete the varied discovery tour through the water town. At the White Lake, visitors interested in art can discover the sculpture park "Künstler BEI WU" with numerous exhibits of different art styles by international artists.
