In the park called "Parish Garden" Swantow with centuries-old yew trees intergrown like arbors.
Swantow is a dreamy place in the middle of nowhere in southern Rügen. The yews of the parish garden, planted about 200 years ago, form a rainproof roof with their crowns. The parish priests once drank their tea under it. Even today, it is said that inexplicable voices can be heard under the yews at full moon. It is said to be the Slavs cursing the Christians. In the shade of the four yew trees, so-called tree concerts are held regularly.
