at the port of Ribnitz

As a sponsor of regional art, the Lions Club Ribnitz-Damgarten has accompanied the commitment of artists in the area for years.
Out of close ties to the important sculptor Jo Jastram, the common wish arose to erect a large sculpture in the town of Ribnitz-Damgarten, which would refer to the artist's work in the region and at the same time be an enrichment of the townscape. In 2005 a good location was found here at the Ribnitz harbor promenade. The work of art was financed predominantly by private means. The Federal Chancellor (ret.) Gerhard Schröder took over the patronage.
