The 7 m long and 5 m wide erratic boulder made of reddish hammer granite was probably transported from Bornholm via glacial masses of the last ice age to Lohme. Today it lies about 20 m from the Baltic Sea beach, about 100 m east of the harbor in Lohme. It has a mass of 162 t and belongs as the fifth largest erratic boulder to the legally protected geotopes on the Island of Rügen. The name "Swan Stone" is due to a legend, according to which on Rügen the babies are brought by the Adebar in summer and by the swan in winter. The children are hidden in the stone until then. Near the stone there is a memorial plaque commemorating the fate of three boys who died on the Swan Stone in the winter of 1956.
