The wind mecca of Germany is located high in the north of the Island of Rügen and spoils with an incredible standing area that reaches out 450 meters. The spot is recommended for southwest to north winds. You can take courses and rent equipment at the wind and kitesurfing schools. Because of the sheltered location on the Wieker Bodden, the water is as smooth as iron.
Located on the Wiek Bodden and separated from the open Baltic Sea only by the small peninsula Bug, this spot is one of the windiest in Germany. To get on the water in Wiek you will find two separate entry areas for kiters and windsurfers. These are about 150 meters apart and both are very easy to reach. Windsurfing and kite schools can be found directly on site and the large standing area, which is also suitable as a speed slope, is suitable for all skill levels. In some places you should watch out for bigger stones in the water, because they have already killed one or the other board. If necessary, talk to a few people beforehand for more information. A small short wave can be found here at most a bit further out near the channel. The spot is suitable for wind directions from SW to N.
