The 210-meter wide standing area makes the southern shore of Lake Fleesensee an ideal windsurfing spot in southwest to north winds. Kiting is allowed in the specially established kite zone, but only recommended for experts due to the many obstacles on land.
Lake Fleesensee is located in the heart of the Mecklenburg Lake District and is part of the Müritz-Elde waterway. Thus, there is a lot of activity on the water and from pedal boats to houseboats to excursion boats, vacationers cavort almost everywhere. Due to its central location, the place is not only suitable for surfing but also ideal as a starting point for water tours by canoe, kayak or SUP. The local water sports school offers the best conditions for this with its diverse range of activities. A special feature is the specially established zone for kitesurfers, because kiting is generally prohibited on federal waterways and otherwise only allowed in Boek on the Müritz. However, inexperienced kitesurfers should not go on the water here, because the spot is quite demanding despite the large standing area and is not recommended for beginners. The spot is suitable for wind directions from SW to N.
