Shallow water lovers will find dreamlike conditions in Ückeritz because of its sheltered location. With a 250-meter wide standing area, the spot is also perfect for beginners. You can rent equipment at the water sports school - and take a warm shower. South to northwest works best, then the wind has a free course.
North and South Usedom are connected by a spit of land about 10 kilometers long, on which the Ückeritz spot is located between the Achterwasser and the Baltic Sea. Ückeritz offers a very extensive standing area and thus optimal conditions for learning new tricks, among other things. At the sailing, surfing and kite school, water sports enthusiasts can rent equipment, take courses and even have a warm shower. However, the space available on land and at the entrance is somewhat limited, especially on good wind days. There is an alternative spot a bit further south at the Stagnitz campsite. Access to this spot is directly from the campsite via small niches in the reed belt. Otherwise you will find similar conditions as at the surf school. The spot is suitable for wind directions from S to NW.
Facilities:
- Toilets, showers, waste disposal (3 € daily fee).
- Offers of the surf school - windsurfing and kiteboarding lessons, sailing
- Parking facilities < 50 m away, fee required
