You can park and stay overnight directly at the spot for a small fee with your van, camper or other vehicle. You can set up your equipment on the beach or on a small meadow. Best wind direction for wave fans is southwest. Then moderately high waves run into the small bay.
The quiet Baltic resort Thiessow is located in the extreme southeast of Rügen at the transition from the Greifswalder Bodden to the open Baltic Sea. The beach, located in a small bay, was one of the most popular surfing areas in the region even in GDR times. At that time, this was the only place where windsurfers were allowed to surf the waves. Not least because of this, the spot was probably also known under the nickname Thiewaii. The best access to the water is from the campsite, which is located in the middle of the headland between Klein Zicker and Thiessow. For a small fee you can park here in peace and quiet or, if necessary, spend the night right next to the beach. It is best to set up your equipment on the small meadow directly on the beach. But pay attention to the kite and windsurf zone. The spot is suitable for wind directions from S to NW.
Facilities:
- Toilets, showers, waste disposal (caming place).
- Offers of the surf school - training kitesurfing, SUP, (training windsurfing)
- Parking facilities < 50 m (camping site) or < 250 m (exit of Thiessow) far away, fee required
