Windsurfers are among themselves here. Kiting is prohibited. On the offshore sandbanks the waves break very cleanly and on strong wind days easily three meters high. You will have the most fun with sideshore from west-southwest. The standing area is narrow. Rocks lurk everywhere under the water surface. Therefore: experts only!
Kreptitz is located on the northwest coast of Rügen in the middle of a small nature reserve. Next to Mukran, the spot is probably the best-known wave spot on Rügen. The highest waves break here in northwesterly wind directions on an offshore sandbank. Since the landscape in this region of Rügen is dominated by steep coasts, access to the spot is not exactly easy. You can only reach the beach with your equipment via a narrow and steep steel staircase. It is therefore recommended to use the small meadow above the cliff for rigging, especially on stormy days. The shorebreak is heavy here, the standing area is very small and occasionally there are rocks under the water surface. Therefore, the spot is only recommended to absolute professionals, because others will be washed through here properly. Kitesurfing is unfortunately not allowed in Kreptitz due to nature conservation regulations. The spot is suitable for wind directions from W to NE.
