Sideshore winds from the west and northeast are optimal for a surf day at the Baltic health spa. In stormy weather, however, Graal-Müritz is only recommended for experienced wave slashers due to the densely standing groynes and the steeply sloping beach.
Graal-Müritz is one of the most beautiful seaside resorts in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The village is centrally located between the city of Rostock and the idyllic Fischland-Darß-Zingst Peninsula. So even on windless days there is a lot to discover in the immediate vicinity. At the beach you get everything you expect from a Baltic Sea beach: clear water, waves and white foam crests. There is even a surf school with rental facilities on site. However, in stormy weather, windsurfing and kiting at this spot is only recommended for experienced riders due to the many groynes and the lack of shallow water. Then Graal-Müritz becomes a real wave spot. The spot is suitable for wind directions from W to NE.
Facilities:
- Toilets, showers, waste disposal (camping site).
- Offer of the surf school - training windsurf, (kitesurf), sailing, surfing
- Parking facilities < 50 m (campsite) or > 500 m far away, fee required
