Painters, sculptors and potters love Ahrenshoop - as well as wave artists. Southwest to north winds are particularly inspiring. You can live out your creativity on two sections of the beach: At the Hohe Ufer or further north at Aufgang 3.
The artists' village of Ahrenshoop connects the Darß peninsula with the mainland. Here there are two ways to get to the water. The first is at the Hohe Ufer, but requires a long walk. The second is at the end of the village in the direction of Born at beach entrance 3, where you can park right behind the dune and do not have to carry your equipment far. On the other hand, there are groynes in the water that can be dangerous due to currents. Further out you have enough space to ride the waves with westerly winds. In summer you should keep an eye on the bathers. Consideration is also the first commandment here, so that surfing is still possible at this great spot. The spot is suitable for wind directions from SW to N.
