In Neu Mukran you can park directly in front of the beach and spend the night. Here, the waves pile up to three meters high on the offshore sandbank. Sideshore wind from the northeast provides creamy conditions. Also east is still relaxed to surf. On the somewhat rocky shore you have to expect moderate shorebreak.
Neu Mukran is located on the east coast of Rügen in the immediate vicinity of the overseas port of Sassnitz. The spot is probably one of the most famous wave spots in the country and is therefore very well visited on stormy days. You can park almost directly at the water and even overnight stays are allowed here. With wind directions from northeast to east the spot offers the best conditions. Then the waves break a bit further out on an offshore sandbank and can even reach heights of 3 meters. In the shore area you have to expect a moderate shore break, which is difficult to overcome especially for beginners because of the small standing area. If you don't feel comfortable in the waves, you should better switch to one of the flat water spots in the area, because Mukran is not really suitable for freeriding. The spot is suitable for wind directions from NE to S.
