The atonement stone from the 16th century is located in the Gustow cemetery.
This atonement stone from 1510 can be found in the cemetery in Gustow. It is about 2.50 m high, 0.60 m wide and depicts a crucifix with two angels. To the left of it a kneeling man with a sword on his head can be seen, to the right of it a chalice and a coat of arms with a rune-like house mark. Atonement stones are also called murder cheeks. They were supposedly erected on the spot where a murder occurred. According to the inscription on the stone cheek, the then preacher Thomas Norenberg was beaten to death here by drunken peasants.
