An ugly building in a very beautiful place.
Klempenow Castle has stood on the alluvial sand island of Klempenow for around 750 years and is now a living cultural landmark in the Tollensetal valley. For over 30 years now. With a café, gallery, event rooms, also in the former LPG cowshed, with a castle garden, canoe station and in the gatehouse 'Der Laden' for beautiful and delicious food.
The painter Klaus Böllhoff made the last eyesore on the 'Klempenower Bodendenkmal' his new place of work in 2015. SUBITOW. Together with his old friend MIC: "To make this place human", the industrial wasteland has now blossomed into a somewhat different garden and the ugly LPG factory hut has been given a new lease of life. When you open the door, you are amazed at what you see. A bright, spacious gallery with a select variety, then studio and living spaces. Together they form a relaxed ensemble that invites you to linger and exchange ideas. Human, not elitist but solidly uncompromising.
