Mecklenburg rural life - this is presented in many ways with its traditions developed over centuries in the Störtal Museum Banzkow. It is located in the basement of the Trend Hotel Banzkow.
On the occasion of the 700th anniversary of Banzkow, the Störtal Museum was opened on June 5, 2000 and is affiliated with the socio-cultural center "Störtal e.V. Banzkow". The museum is run by the very active museum group of the association. In the Störtal Museum you go on a journey into the past on 300 square meters. Under the motto "Living, working and living in the countryside", Banzkow and life in the surrounding area are presented in an exciting and diverse way. There are not only exhibits from Banzkow, the Lewitz and the surrounding area to see, but also from other regions. The museum also houses a "corner store with pub", named after the Banzkow merchant Max Block (1898-1954). This is operated through the Trend Hotel and invites to small celebrations with family and friends. Since summer 2009, the diorama model "Banzkow around 1900" arouses the special interest of visitors.
Opening hours: Sunday 14.00 - 17.00. Admission is free, but the association is grateful for any donation.
There is the possibility of an unscheduled visit at the hotel (Tel. 03861 71 14). For special guided tours (e.g. for school classes, clubs, etc.) please contact Störtal e.V. - Banzkow (tel. 03861 300 818, e-mail: museum@stoertal-banzkow.de).
