Wilhelm Blohm (Blohm&Voss) had the manor house designed in neo-Gothic Tudor style by the renowned Wismar architect Heinrich Thormann in 1869. Today, the magnificent house with the 3 hectare estate park offers vacation apartments as well as rooms for e.g. weddings.
The manor house was commissioned by Carl von Behr-Negendank and built by the Strelitz court architect Friedrich Wilhelm Buttel around 1825. Around 1850, the castle was extended by the addition of an orangery and a two-story living area. The castle is surrounded by a beautiful park of 21 hectares.
In the MV-Kunst Galerie, the self-taught artists Wolfgang Hube and Kathy H-Teufel exhibit their paintings, painted ostrich eggs and stones, as well as jewellery made using a wide variety of techniques. Guests can also get active themselves in the painting workshop. A guided tour of the gallery is free of charge.
