The Grevesmühlen Municipal Museum provides an insight into the history of the town, starting with prehistory and early history up to the present. Regularly changing special exhibitions round off the exhibition and constantly allow for new discoveries.

In the Grevesmühlen Municipal Museum you will find exhibitions on the prehistory and early history of Grevesmühlen and the surrounding area, a detailed account of the town's history from its founding to the present day, as well as biographies of famous children of the town such as Rudolph Karstadt or Luise Reuter. In addition to a permanent exhibition about the prisoner ship Cap Arcona, for which there is also a memorial in the town, there are constantly changing special exhibitions on topics of all kinds.

Opening hours:Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-5 p.m., Saturday: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (during the summer months).

Prices: Adults 1,50 €, reduced 1,00 €, pupils 0,50 €.

Guided tours for groups by prior arrangement.

Bothmer Castle & Castle Park

Bothmer Castle is one of the largest baroque palaces in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It was built in 1726-1732 by the architect Johann Friedrich Künnecke. The builder was Imperial Count Hans Caspar von Bothmer.
