The northwesternmost church building of the North Rügen parish is probably the smallest chapel on the Island of Rügen.
At the entrance to Dranske is the inconspicuous Paulus Chapel, which was built under difficult conditions in GDR times and consecrated in Advent 1960. In the 1930s, the old fishing village was razed to the ground to create a military settlement for the members of the military naval air force. Before Dranske was developed into one of the most important NVA naval bases from 1960, the Paulus Chapel Dranske was built. This chapel was an important symbol of ecclesiasticism and ideologically independent public spirit for the ever-shrinking parish of Dranske in GDR times.
