As a former fishing and seafaring village, the Baltic resort of Prerow can already look back on more than 130 years of tradition as a seaside resort. Framed by the National Park of Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft with the pristine Darß forest, Prerow stretches along the Baltic Sea on the Darß. The white, fine sandy and gently sloping beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe and offers young and old relaxing bathing pleasure. The pier with its 395 m length as well as the lighthouse Darßer Ort are considered landmarks of Prerow and give the place, together with the Prerow stream, its distinctive character.

Framed by the National Park of Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft with the primeval Darß forest, Prerow on the Darß stretches along the Baltic Sea. In the Darß Museum, one of the sights of the village, you can immerse yourself in the history of the region. Numerous events in the Kulturkaten "Kiek In" provide varied entertainment.

All events of the Darß-Museum can be found in our Darß event database. It is worthwhile to explore the Darß landscape on foot or by bicycle. The well-developed network of hiking and biking trails (approx. 50 km) invites you to interesting active excursions. The tourist information offers route recommendations and cycling maps as well as guided nature walks and local tours. The Seemannskirche is the oldest church on the Darß (built in 1726/28). Protestant and Catholic services are held here, as well as exhibitions, concerts and other events during the summer months. Guided tours are possible by appointment.

The Baltic resort of Prerow has a very well developed municipal harbor, which is also a resting place for water hikers. It is located on the ground side at the end of the Prerow Stream. Due to a great commitment to the environment, the harbor has been awarded the European Blue Flag environmental predicate for several years in a row.

At the Prerow stream, water pedal boats, rowing boats, motor boats and kayaks can be rented and Bodden tours with passenger ships can be made from here. The line trips to the lighthouse Darßer Ort are a very special experience. Carriages leave several times a day from Bernsteinweg directly to the Darß lighthouse. Individual carriage and charabanc rides as well as private riding lessons are also offered.
