A visit to the Slavic Village at Lake Zierk is an excursion into the early medieval settlement history of the region. Here you can be active and creative.
You can reach the Slavic village not far from the Neustrelitz city harbor after a short walk along the lake shore. Or you can moor as a canoe hiker at the rustic wooden jetty. Discover how the Slavs lived in our region about 1000 years ago, how they designed their houses and practiced their crafts. The clay and wooden huts, built in the traditional way, are not a museum, but invite you to participate and be creative. For example, you can learn about historical crafts such as pottery, felting and blacksmithing. They can also make candles from beeswax, weave baskets, carve or make beautiful souvenirs from soapstone. If the weather god "Pernu" allows it, a round trip on the lake with the faithfully reproduced Slavic boat "Nakon" is an experience - rowing requires your own muscle power. Regular activity days, a small exhibition, regional products and home-baked bread several times a week round off the offer.
The Slavic Village is designed for families, school classes, travel groups and disabled people. It bears the quality seal "Family Land MV".
