Visitors can learn interesting facts and special features about bees at the bee museum in Plau am See, which is part of a complex with a show apiary, a specialist shop for bee products and beekeeping supplies, and vacation apartments. With more than 300 bee colonies in 16 trailers, ten to twelve tons of natural honey are harvested here every year. This is processed into about ten varieties, ranging from forest or vetch honey to clover or cornflower honey. During guided tours, honey extractors, bottling facilities and wax candle production are explained. In addition, various types of honey and honey cake may be tasted. A tour of the bee pasture garden, which contains over 300 food plants for bees, ranging from acacia to witch hazel, completes the offer. The farm's own store sells honey and honey products, eggs, fruit, jams and sea buckthorn products. For guests there are vacation apartments available for rent.
