The most prominent building of the Baltic seaside resort Rerik is the 170-metre-long pier.
Below the hill "Schmiedeberg" you will find the 170 m long sea-bridge, from where you can enjoy an impressive view of the cliffs and the long natural beach. It was built in the early 1990s. Every Evening, anglers line up to try their luck.
On the other side of the bridge there is the "Haffplatz". In summer, there is a lot of activity here and holidaymakers, experienced sailors and fishermen mix on the lively promenade. In winter it is much more quiet here.
Many restaurants and small shops offer cultural and culinary specialities from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. A popular souvenir is the little "Erik from Rerik" and with a bit of luck you will experience how the shanty singers "Reriker Heulbojen" smash their shanties.
In addition to an almost untouched and varied landscape, Rerik also offers plenty of distraction: at the lively Haffplatz, a multitude of events provide variety and holiday atmosphere.
