The school museum in Middelhagen is a museum about the history of educational development on the peninsula Mönchgut. It was opened on August 1, 1986 in the former sexton's house.
The schoolhouse in Middelhagen was built in 1825. For about 150 years village school teachers diligently taught the children of Middelhagen here. Today the children go to school in Göhren, Binz or Bergen. But the schoolhouse has remained. In the school museum you can experience in a historical lesson how teaching in a one-class school worked, how the school on Mönchgut developed, or how the living conditions of a cantor and village school teacher were.
