The local history museum "Sand and Sandstone" in Rambow displays 14,000 exhibits. These are not just minerals, but exhibits from all walks of life.
The Heimatstube is divided into an indoor and outdoor area. A total of 14,000 exhibits are on display, although there are no large collections in the individual areas, but rather a cross-section. The focal points in the house are: - 1,234 salt and pepper tax from 1880 onwards from all over the world - 1.600 minerals and stones from all over the world - 755 types of sand from 130 countries - 60 globes with a diameter of 2 to 40 cm - 50 atlases, from the first to the year 2010 - 45 encyclopaedias from 1 volume to the magnificent edition from the year 1800 - 200 pewter figures with different motifs - 8 model railway plates and dioramas in T to G gauge - 60 ironiron from 4 centuries - 56 nutcrackers ranging in size from 2 to 80 cm - 11 "geological postcards" of towns or minerals - skat cards and stamps with different motifs - minerals, European mammals, mushrooms, Leipzig Fair, etc. - as well as various exhibition pieces from all possible areas A collection of "wrapping paper" for butter is probably unique. There are 300 pieces from 20 European countries. The collection is integrated into the house, so that a visit is only possible by appointment.
