The Rubenow Monument is the centerpiece of Rubenowplatz and depicts important representatives of Greifswald's university history.
At a height of 12.10 meters, it is the largest free-standing cast zinc monument in Germany. It is made of galvanized copper-plated zinc and stands on a dark red polished granite base. The neo-Gothic style is reminiscent of church spires from its time, which can be seen in the towers of the nearby churches of St. Jakobi and St. Nicolai.
