The Neubrandenburg Regional Museum (founded in 1872) is one of the oldest civic museums in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

The museum offers the opportunity to experience the diversity of the region in one of the oldest civic museums in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Curious visitors explore the history of the four-gate city at three locations in Neubrandenburg's city center: The former Franciscan monastery, Neubrandenburg's oldest building, has housed the modern and interactive permanent exhibition on the city and regional history since 2013. In the Treptower Tor, the home of the museum since 1872, visitors walk in the footsteps of the prehistoric and early historical past of the Tollense region. The exhibition "Wege zur Backsteingotik" (Ways to Brick Gothic) is dedicated to this characteristic architectural style in the concert church in Neubrandenburg. The museum can also be explored digitally on the website of the Neubrandenburg Regional Museum.

In cooperation with the Neubrandenburg municipal forestry office, 300 shares were purchased here by a company based in Neustrelitz. Together with the company, residents of the region were involved in planting a climatic forest of 2000 sessile oaks on an area of 0.3 hectares. The planting took place on 10.04.2010.

Prillwitz hunting lodge

In 1890 the house was built as a hunting lodge of the Grand Duke of Strelitz in the neo-Renaissance style. The old manor house next to it is a simple 11-axis building over two floors. The facade of the hunting lodge is richly articulated and changes from red clinker to sandstone. The theme of hunting is found in the decor of the house. Inside, parts of the wall paneling have been preserved. Also noteworthy is the beautiful lake location on the Lieps.
