Nestled in meadows and forest, the romantic little village stretches four and a half kilometers from the Saaler Bodden in the west to the Koppelstrom on its south side.
In the season, passenger ships sail here daily in the direction of Prerow, Althagen, Fuhlendorf and Bodstedt. There are several newly built modern jetties in Born, with water sports enthusiasts being competently instructed by the Born harbor master at the municipal jetty. Due to its great commitment to the environment, the harbor has been awarded the European "Blue Flag" environmental award for several years now. Also, the port has as a widely visible symbol the "Yellow Wave" - an award of the German Tourism Association and was awarded three stars. Cane-roofed houses characterize the townscape.
