Zoos, animal parks and enclosures

"Unsere kleine Burderei" is a privately run farm and offers professionally based animal-assisted projects and donkey walks for individuals, small groups and families.

Based on an additional qualification in animal-assisted pedagogy and therapy and 20 years of professional experience, we offer the following:

  • accompanied donkey walks:
    On short (also suitable for younger children) or longer hikes in the unspoilt surroundings, guests learn a lot about these wonderful animals.
    Please note: the donkeys are not ridden.
  • Animal-assisted support for mutism
  • Grief counseling with the support of animals
  • Strategies for coping with fear, e.g. after dog bites
  • Animal-assisted support for children & adults with disabilities
  • Animal-assisted encounters for people with dementia

    Officers' mess

    The officers' mess in Schwerin was built between 1897 and 1900 and is picturesquely situated on Ostdorfer Berg, opposite the castle and above the baroque lawn cascade. The building, an example of neo-Renaissance architecture, houses a magnificent officers' mess and is part of the historic barracks ensemble that has been preserved to this day. After extensive renovation work, the building now serves as company headquarters.

    Grand Ducal Hunting Lodge

    The picturesque Jägerhof, which is set around a tree-lined courtyard with a view of the castle, was built in 1855. The ensemble of buildings dates back to the 18th century, when it was built adjacent to the ducal forestry and hunting grounds, which were located just a few meters away to the northwest. All three buildings of the Jägerhof were built in solid construction and with the brick banding typical of Willebrand buildings of the time.

    Old Synagogue Hagenow

    The Old Synagogue was built in 1828. Today the restored buildings belong to Hagenow museum now. There are exhibitions taking place in the buildings as well as concerts or lectures.
