One of the most beautiful classicist garden salons in northern Germany is located in the palace garden of the residential town of Neustrelitz

The classicist Orangery in the Neustrelitz Palace Garden was originally built in 1755 as winter quarters for tropical plants. The Strelitz state architect Friedrich-Wilhelm Buttel redesigned the building into a magnificent garden salon in 1840-42 on the recommendation of Karl Friedrich Schinkel and Christian Daniel Rauch. The three banqueting halls in the national colors of blue, yellow and red house copies of antique sculptures and the ducal collection of antiques. Admirable are the Pompeian wall paintings.

Currently, the orangery is undergoing extensive restoration, so unfortunately the interiors cannot be visited at the moment.
During a walk through the palace garden, enjoy the orangery garden with the children's fountain by the sculptor Albert Wolff and the water feature on the orangery forecourt.
