Look at art and enjoy art in the Orangery in Putbus.
Since the 1970s, the Orangerie Putbus was able to establish itself as the "Artistic Exhibition Center of the Island of Rügen", with a charisma that was not only regionally significant during difficult times in terms of cultural policy. After the reunification, the Kunstverein set exhibition accents until the mid-90s of the 20th century, then the city of Putbus on its own. In 2009 and 2010 the Orangerie was the domicile of the "Gallery of the County", which became an important address for the mediation of current positions of contemporary art through the Kunstverein. The KulturStiftung Rügen, since 2011 tenant in the Orangerie, pursues in the spirit of its founder Hans Marquardt (1920-2004), a balanced exhibition program, whereby own exhibitions from the collection of the KulturStiftung and the artists represented by them play an equally important role. But also positions represented by the gallery of the district Vorpommern-Rügen since 1995 until today.
Opening hours: Tue - Sun 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
