Nestled in the idyllic Mecklenburg Lake District and close to the Müritz National Park, the Old Well Distillery is located in a renovated well house, where the cottage-sized distillery shines amidst lakes, forests and horses.

The small distillery on the Mecklenburg Lake District in Below (Wesenberg) has won the award for Best Gin in Germany 2022 after being selected as a finalist for Best Traditional Gin 2022 by the prestigious The Gin Guide from the UK, the home of gin. With 13 botanicals and hand-picked juniper from the forests around Below, The Gin Guide describes Old Well Gin #2 as a pleasant juniper, citrus and a little floral that unfolds on the palate before an aromatic spice lingers in a long finish. Regular tastings and tours are offered between Easter and mid-September. Places can be reserved and booked via the website.
