Historic water tower Wismar at the Lindengarten
In the Linden Garden there is the water tower, a rectangular brick tower from the second half of the 15th century - an engineering feat. It originally served defense purposes and was connected to the city's water supply network between 1882 and 1897. The former defense building and powder tower was used as a water tower as early as 1682. Water from the mill pond was pumped into the tower to supplement the water supply from the "water art" on the market square.
