The monastery of St. Johannis is one of the oldest buildings in Stralsund with a historically grown juxtaposition of different building epochs - the individual phases of the dominant Gothic, Baroque and Classicism.

St. Johannis Monastery is a former Franciscan monastery founded in 1254. Worth seeing are the smoked floor, the Baroque library, the chapter house, the cloister and the rose garden. In the courtyard of the church ruins is a replica of the Pietà by Ernst Barlach.cloister in St. John's Monastery.
