The monastery garden in Franzburg offers interesting tours of herbs and spices.
Under the motto "Modernity meets Heritage", the monastery garden in our town, right next to the church, was inaugurated in November 2006. The beds, surrounded by hornbeam hedges, contain everything that made up a medieval monastery garden: berries of all kinds, herbs, vegetables, spice and medicinal plants and, of course, many fruit trees. A play area for children, fenced in by willows, is also particularly popular with visitors.
- Explanations and stories of herbs and medicinal plants are spiced with anecdotes expertly brought to the woman or the man by Mrs. ThielkeIt is also offered project lessons and vacation organization for schools and day-care centers (on request with subsequent picnic with fruits from the monastery garden)
- Guided tours of the monastery garden are possible from May to September by prior arrangement.
