The Mönchgut Coastal Fishermen's Museum in the Baltic resort of Baabe shows the means of production of the fishermen and boat builders living on Mönchgut.
The open-air exhibition has now been in existence since June 2, 2001. Among the exhibits is a 9.20 m long motorboat named "Ossi". The municipality of Baabe took care of it after it was decommissioned, as well as numerous other fishing boats built in Baabe. The museum also exhibits so-called motor trap boats, including the landing craft "Polt" together with its original trap. Also part of the exhibition is a herring sorting machine, information boards on fishing and boat building as well as on local fishing personalities. Open all year round from 09:00 - 20:00.
