MEDIAN Clinic Heiligendamm

The MEDIAN Clinic Heiligendamm was newly built in 1997 in Germany's oldest seaside health resort, the traditional cradle of rehabilitation, and offers ideal conditions for the successful treatment of many illnesses thanks to its special geographical location with the healing climatic factors of the sea and a coastal climate of medium stimulating strength.
The Baltic Sea - actually there is not much to explain. After all, who doesn't immediately think of the sound of the sea, white sandy beaches and the cry of seagulls?
The Baltic Sea landscape is charming at any time of the year. Even on gray November days, a beach walk is an experience for body and soul.
The neighboring seaside resorts of Börgerende and Kühlungsborn can be reached on foot or by bike - always along the beach. And if you feel fit enough to drive a little further, you can visit the old Hanseatic cities of Rostock, Stralsund or even Lübeck. Lovers of historical monuments are recommended to make a trip to Bad Doberan, e.g. with the historical narrow-gauge railroad "Molli". The Doberan Minster (concerts June-September Fridays 19.30) is considered the most beautiful brick church in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

• has two beach sections with beach chairs, a bicycle rental as well as a swimming pool, sauna and a beautifully designed café with a special ambience, outdoor terrace and beautiful gardens for its rehabilitation patients.
• follows a holistic medical integrative bio-psycho-social concept, which is reflected in the ICF (International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health) of the World Health Organization (WHO)
• has specialized departments, each under the direction of a specialist physician, which work closely together on an interdisciplinary basis to ensure holistic treatment,
• offers special rehabilitative therapy programs for COPD, bronchial asthma and pulmonary fibrosis, with special emphasis on muscle building (equipment-based training therapy, inspiratory muscle trainer with biofeedback, vibration training, neuromuscular electrical stimulation) and diaphragm training for respiratory insufficiency
• carries out psychotrauma therapy (EMDR)
• places a special focus on smoking cessation using the zero-point method (absolutely smoke-free) in combination with modern behavioral therapy and a highly effective addictive substance receptor blocker
• organizes for interested and suitable rehabilitation patients the participation in the winter swimming accompanied by a specialist (clinic association "Heiligendammer Seepferdchen e.V.", October to May)

• Chief physician treatment - Upon request, chief physician treatment is available for respiratory diseases and psychosomatics.
• Optional service rooms - If you value more comfortable living, we have an offer for you. There are four elective rooms with higher-quality furnishings available. These rooms on the top floor are larger than the single rooms on the other floors and some have a sea view. Please ask the staff at our patient admission desk about booking options.
