Marie Hager House, © TI Burg Stargard
Museums

The listed house is dedicated to the memory of the landscape and architectural painter Marie Hager. In addition to her works and objects from her estate, works by artists from the region are also regularly exhibited.

A permanent gallery with works of the Mecklenburg landscape and architectural painter Marie Hager can be seen in Burg Stargard. But also furniture, letters and other personal items from the estate of the artist, who lived and worked in Burg Stargard from 1921 until her death in 1947, are exhibited there. To show a representative exhibition of her works in the former residence of Marie Hager is thanks to a niece of the painter. She bequeathed the estate and the house to the city with the stipulation that the building be turned into a memorial and a meeting place for art and artists. Three rooms in the lovingly designed house are used for various special exhibitions by artists from the region.

    Prillwitz hunting lodge

    • Prillwitz, 17237 Hohenzieritz

In 1890 the house was built as a hunting lodge of the Grand Duke of Strelitz in the neo-Renaissance style. The old manor house next to it is a simple 11-axis building over two floors. The facade of the hunting lodge is richly articulated and changes from red clinker to sandstone. The theme of hunting is found in the decor of the house. Inside, parts of the wall paneling have been preserved. Also noteworthy is the beautiful lake location on the Lieps.
