Gutshaus Wietzow, a neo-Gothic manor house beautifully situated in the Tollense valley, was first mentioned around 1620 and came to the von Blücher family in the 17th century, later to the von Linden family. Karl Friedrich von Linden had an English landscape park laid out after 1750.
The manor house has an unusually beautiful terraced park sloping down to the Tollense River with an almost mystical and bucolic tree population for northern German standards, such as large bald cypresses, plane trees and pyramidal oaks. A solitary chapel completes the idyllic overall composition.
The owner family would like to establish this building and park ensemble as a new center of musical entertainment, a symbol of high musical standards and quality, a platform for excellent young musicians, and a creative venue.
A first opera, Acis und Galatea by Georg Friedrich Haendel, was performed in August 2021, followed by further operas in 2022. Here you can find out about upcoming events and purchase tickets.
