Streu near Schaprode on Rügen was an old estate owned by the von der Osten family. In the first half of the 18th century, the von Platen family acquired the estate, followed by the von Lotzow family in 1749 and the von Bohlen family in 1757.
At the beginning of the 20th century, Johannes Volkmann acquired the estate, but was expropriated in 1945. After the Second World War, the manor house was used for residential purposes, but stood empty for many years until new owners were found in 2001, who restored the building in line with its listed status and have lived in it ever since. The manor house was built in the 18th century and rebuilt in 1871 on behalf of the von Bohlen family. A terracotta plaque above the main entrance bears witness to this conversion, during which the left half of the building was raised by one storey. Two buildings from the former estate complex remain. To the south of the farmyard is a well-kept park with a pond and some old trees. The former forest park was partially cleared after 1945.
