Observation Tower in Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heath Nature Park
A tourist attraction of the Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heath Nature Park is the Moorochse lookout tower located on the northern shore of Lake Plauer See. "Moorochse" is the popular name for the Great Bittern, whose males make a muffled call from the reeds in spring. This sounds like the roar of an ox. From the tower you get a very special view of Lake Plauer See as well as the former peat pits. In addition to the kingfisher and various species of ducks, with a little luck you can also observe white-tailed eagles or the secretly living otter.
