One of the last log cabins stands in Eichhof near Wilhelmsburg at the large Friedländer Wiese. In the years between 1997 and 2000, the monument was restored in accordance with the preservation order. Today it can be visited and freshly baked cake is served in the log cabin café.

For 250 years, the Eichhof log house was home to people who farmed. The log building method was widespread in forested Central Europe until the 20th century. The primeval forests still existing in the region at the beginning of the 18th century allowed the construction of log buildings in Eichhof. The Förderkreis Blockhaus in Eichhof e.V. has set itself the goal of creating an exhibition and event venue in the blockhouse. Since summer 2011 there is a museum café here.
The blockhouse is located directly on the main road and on the Haff-Tollensesee cycle path, which connects Neubrandenburg with Ueckermünde over a distance of 80 km.
