Herb farm Carlsthal, © M. Hagemann
Farm Shops, Shop regionally, Fair weather offers

On the herb farm Carlsthal there are about 200 varieties of herbs to admire, taste and buy throughout the year. The trained gardener and passionate herbalist Jeanette Nadebor invites interested guests to her herb farm for herb walks, workshops, country cooking and summer concerts. The herb farm is surrounded by a natural end moraine landscape of the Trebel valley.

An old barn is surrounded by beautiful and useful things. Here in the wild nature-related kitchen garden grow herbs, tea plants, vegetables, native woody plants and fruit trees of old varieties in mulch cultivation. The visitor has an unobstructed view of the terminal moraine landscape of the Trebel valley, into which the herb farm flows. In the farm store you can buy teas, fresh and dried kitchen and medicinal herbs, honey from our own bees and products from a small farm pottery. From March to September, the café with fresh country cuisine is open every Saturday from 2 to 6 pm: Fresh traditional dishes with old and rare vegetables, herbs and flowers grown on the farm. Ingredients, such as meat and fish, mainly from organic sources and species-appropriate animal husbandry. Garden buffet and skillet dishes, soups and salads, cakes and coffee covers - let us surprise you!

From March to September we offer the following:

  • Fridays at 5 pm "On herbal tour with goats": Walk with the goats, get to know herbs and their effects and uses, collect and relax, about 1.5 hours, 15 € p.p.
  • Saturdays 5 pm "Guided tours in the herb garden": Mainly herbs and tea plants are presented, but also reflections on the nature-based management of the entire garden are discussed. The tour lasts about 45 minutes and costs 5,- € per person.

AT THE MOMENT THERE ARE NO CONCERTS!

Every year various concerts are held at the herb farm. Before each concert, the country kitchen is open from 6 pm. After all concerts, the magical "NIGHT GARDEN" lights up.

For all events please call 0170 2022868 to register! For groups also other dates possible on request.
