Always worth a visit, even for non-water sports enthusiasts! Kitesurf & Canoe Born is a popular destination for surfing, camping, coffee and nature lovers.
The surf school has been around since 2001. It is located on a natural campsite right by the water. Onlookers can sit comfortably by the bay and watch the hustle and bustle: kitesurfing pros jumping several meters high and excited kids before their first windsurfing course, whose wetsuit is a little too big, but it doesn't matter, it looks cute and the main thing is to get into the water.
Windy days - This is when windsurfing, kitesurfing and wingsurfing hearts beat faster. Good wind conditions can create quite a hustle and bustle. What may look a bit chaotic from the outside is actually finely tuned by the surf school's control center. If you get the urge to watch, simply report to the counter - maybe there's still a free spot.
Windless days - do you prefer things to be a little quieter, but still want to spend the day with a bit of physical activity? Then why not explore the Saaler Bodden on the water? Windless days are perfect for a canoe or SUP excursion. Bikes can also be hired.
Bar & Café - The surfer bar is open for you regardless of the wind. It's a little insider tip. Some people have already been told that "they have the best cappuccino on the island here" - genuine customer review. Various cold drinks, ice cream and snacks are also on the menu.
Events - Another insider tip: Kitesurf & Kanu Born organizes concerts and other events from time to time, mainly in summer but also in the off-season. The bar serves the finest drinks and usually no dancing leg is left unswung.
