The Kastanienhof is situated in a beautiful secluded location between forests and fields on the edge of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Schaalsee. The surrounding landscape is characterized by rolling hills, forests, lakes and the nearby natural beaches of the Baltic Sea.
A time-out at the Kastanienhof is a journey into a world of peace and relaxation. In the midst of the one-hectare historic farm garden with old trees, flower, herb and vegetable beds, the two-century-old guest house is situated in a solitary location in the middle of fields and forests. Fully committed to the tradition of the house, all rooms are equipped with historical furniture. In the cozy guest rooms, the library, the common rooms or one of the many cozy sitting areas in the garden you will find distance from the often hectic everyday life.

Those interested in gardening can learn a lot about the cultivation and use of old or unknown vegetable varieties, interesting facts about medicinal and culinary herbs and the keeping of old breeds of domestic animals during a guided garden tour or in conversation with Kastanienhof gardener Hajo.
