Jellyfish Hostel is a cozy hostel, extremely centrally located in the middle of the historic old town of Rostock in a quiet cul-de-sac.
From the Jellyfish Hostel everything in Rostock can be reached comfortably and quickly. At the IHK/Steintor stop around the corner, all streetcar lines and many buses run. You can also get to the huge sandy beach in Rostock-Warnemünde quickly by car or by S-Bahn. The main train station is only a good kilometer away. The ZOB is located on the south side.
The hostel is housed in a beautiful old town house and offers you both very cheap single beds in various sized shared rooms as well as inexpensive private single to four-bed rooms. In this respect, it is a cross between a youth hostel and a cheap hotel. It is open for everyone who is looking for a cheap accommodation with a pleasant atmosphere in a central location in Rostock. A pass or membership as in a youth hostel is not necessary.
The listed building has a long history - at the end of the 19th century it was the front building of the Tattersall Rostock (a kind of riding hall), which was located in the backyard.
After the fall of the Berlin Wall it was extensively renovated and a few years ago it was converted into a hostel. Now it has modern bathrooms, a spacious breakfast room, a guest kitchen, a small garden and two Internet PCs for free use. Wi-Fi is free and works throughout the house.
