The Catholic Church and Parish Niels Stensen
In the town of Waren the first Catholic mass after the Reformation was celebrated in 1898. The first priest came to the place in 1908. There were only a few Catholics at that time, but their number increased steadily after World War 1. Therefore, in 1928 the foundation stone for a Catholic church was laid and a year later it was consecrated. Polish reapers played a significant role in the construction. The three entrance portals were made by Peter Balehna from Waren in 1979. The door leaves, covered with chased copper sheet, show motifs from the Bible.
