House of the guest
The "Landhaus Lehmann" was designed in 1907 by the Schwerin architect Paul Ehmig and was used as a summer villa of the Lehmann family until 1937. In 1937 it was rebuilt by the municipality and used as a town hall until 1991. From 1997 to May 2000 it was rebuilt and renovated into the "Haus des Gastes" by the spa administration with funding from the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Since May 2000, the house has been used as an event and exhibition space as well as a library. In memory of Henni Lehmann's merits for the island of Hiddensee, the house was officially named "Henni-Lehmann-Haus" on June 5, 2000.
