The local history museum in Tribsees tells a lot about the history of the place.
Since 2007, the local history museum has been located in the former preparatory school on Kirchplatz. During a tour you can discover old town seals, coins, photos, agricultural implements and much more and go on a journey through the history of Tribsee and a region that was already settled 5000 years ago. Pictures by the local painter Louis Douzette, books by the poet Heinrich Bandlow and writings by Johann Joachim Spalding (1714-1804), who was one of the representatives of the Enlightenment and played an important role as provost in Berlin during the time of Frederick the Great from 1764 to 1786, are the special features in the museum.
Since 2017, the special exhibition "Historical evidence of Pomerania in map art" has been on display in the local museum. The exhibition shows original maps from the 16th to 19th centuries with corresponding accompanying texts.
Opening hours: Mon - Thurs 9:00 am - 12:00 pm and Tues 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm and Fri - Sun closed .
