The summer house of the poet and Nobel laureate Gerhart Hauptmann in Kloster.

The original preserved summer house of the poet and Nobel laureate Gerhart Hauptmann takes the guest back to the 1920s and 1930s. You can visit the original living and working rooms, part of his art collection, the wine cellar and the cultural-historical exhibition "Literary Modernism on Hiddensee". The summer house and the literature pavilion are open daily during the summer months. The literature pavilion houses a well-stocked bookstore, which also sells Hauptmann's favorite wine. Readings or concerts are held regularly.
